Our office uses modern, state-of-the-art technology to enhance patient comfort and to help you get the smile you deserve!
Dr. Sklar is pleased to announce the arrival of the ZOOM2 Professional Whitening System in our office. ZOOM2 is safe, effective and very fast - in less than an hour, your teeth will become an average of eight shades lighter! ZOOM2 is much more convenient than wearing strips or trays for days, making it a perfect choice for the busy individual. ZOOM2 also produces 67% less sensitivity than the original ZOOM system. The procedure is simple: it begins with a short preparation process to cover your lips and gums, leaving only your teeth exposed. The ZOOM2 gel, which was designed to be used with a specially designed light, is then applied. The light and the gel work together to gently penetrate your teeth, breaking up stains and discoloration. With proper care, the new ZOOM2 technology will have your smile sparkling for years! Call our office to speak to a staff member if you have any questions. ZOOM2 makes an excellent graduation, prom or birthday gift. Gift certificates are available. Learn

Dr. Sklar's office is fully computerized and offers digitally assisted orthodontic diagnostics. This is the most advanced orthodontic record analysis for treatment planning available. Computer Controlled Injections - The WAND
The source of discomfort for most injections, however, isn't the needle, it's the flow of the anesthetic into your tissue. The WAND delivers the anesthetic at an optimal flow rate for a comfortable injection. The microprocessor inside The WAND automatically ensures a steady flow rate regardless of tissue density. Constant, slow flow is one key to virtually pain-free injections. The computer provides a flow of anesthetic directly ahead of the needle. This creates a pathway of anesthesia so you hardly feel the needle at all. The WAND allows injections that do not numb the lips, face and muscles of expression. Whether injections make you nervous or not, The WAND helps us provide a more effective anesthetic delivery and the onset of anesthesia is often faster. You're more comfortable throughout the procedure, and we may be able to use new techniques so you won't experience the lingering numbness of your tongue, lips and face.
The use of the dental laser now enables us to provide the latest technology available in dental treatment. The Er.YAG laser is used for many types of decay removal and most soft tissue surgery. Lasers are revolutionizing the way we treat dental disease. They work by emitting a precise, specialized beam of light that gently targets and destroys dental decay and removes soft tissue. Lasers provide safe, fast, comfortable and effective treatment for both hard and soft oral tissues. They eliminate the unpleasant noises and vibrations of conventional dental treatment. Sometimes it is necessary to combine conventional procedures with laser treatment depending on the procedure and technical difficulty involved. Lasers promote faster healing and little or no post surgical discomfort, especially with frenectomies and gingival (gum) surgery. Lasers sterilize the treatment area. Laser treatment sometimes requires little or no numbing. Lasers are gentler to the oral tissues then conventional methods of treatment. Dr. Sklar has Advanced Certification Training in the use of the Er.YAG laser and is a member of the American Academy of Laser Dentistry. Dr. Sklar Awarded Advanced Status in Use of Dental Laser From Academy of Laser Dentistry Dr. Sklar's Case Studies Published in Academy Journal Dr. Talbot A. Sklar was awarded advanced proficiency status in the use of the dental laser at the 2005 Academy of Laser Dentistry's Twelfth Annual Conference, held last April in New Orleans, L.A. One of 300 dentists in attendance, Dr. Sklar presented several case studies involving the use of lasers in his practice, and those studies were chosen for publication in the Academy's journal, Wavelengths". The Academy of Laser Dentistry is an international professional association dedicated to improving the health and well-being of patients through proper use of laser technology. At the annual conference, attendees participate in discussions and panels on new research, technological developments and the expanding role of lasers in dentistry. Congratulations, Dr. Sklar!
The DIAGNOdent is a new high tech laser system that aids in early diagnosis of cavities in the complex anatomy of the chewing surfaces of teeth. It utilizes laser light of a defined wavelength to help detect and quantify demineralized tooth substances without x-ray exposure.
