Tooth Whitening is actually a mild bleaching process that restores stained or discolored teeth to a healthy, natural color. Our office uses an advanced procedure, Zoom2, that is only available from your dentist.
Teeth become discolored for different reasons:
Whitening is very safe. We use a product that has been proven safe when used under the direction of a dentist.
Dr. Sklar will evaluate your child's teeth and smile to determine whether they are a good candidate for the procedure. In some cases a different cosmetic procedure may better meet your expectations, but whitening is a safe, fast and easy process that is effective for almost everyone! It is especially helpful to brighten the post-orthodontic smile that patients have waited so long to achieve! We do not consider a patient for whitening under the age of 13.
When Will We See Results?
By following
some simple post whitening care instructions your teeth will always be lighter
than they were before. To keep your teeth looking their best, we recommend
flossing, brushing twice daily and occasional touch ups with Zoom2 Nite White
gel in your custom trays. This product is available through our office. What Does a Patient Experience during the Zoom2 In-Office Procedure? During the procedure,
patients may comfortably listen to music or watch television. Individuals
with a strong gag reflex or anxiety should speak to Dr. Sklar about their
concerns prior to scheduling any appointments.
